Hello,
I hope you are enjoying some peace and sunshine like us here at Kainga.

| Peace design in DMC 777, stitched on 25 count Belfast Linen. |
I have been going through some of my cross stitch patterns that I have downloaded over the years. This Peace design was a freebie from h/
http://lacontesselepointdecroix.blogspot.com.au/ I left out a few random background stitches. I don't like threads running across the back of the design. I made it into a mug mat or it could be used just as a small table centre.
I really wanted to make the whole back out of hexagons but didn't have enough of this fabric. Instead of quilting the mug mat I used a chain stitch. It was good to use up bits and pieces from the sewing room.
For the past 18 months we have been buying our fruit and veg from Farmers Markets in the Perth Hills. Whilst these provide fruit and veg that is so much better than what the supermarkets provide we have also discovered some places that sell at their orchard.
Earlier on in the month one of the orchards had a open day and we were able to walk around the orchard and eat fruit straight off the trees.
They have also planted hundreds of Italian grapes. Building is currently underway to open a restaurant in Spring. You certainly don't get a view like this if you shop at a supermarket.
Hope you have a lovely weekend, Anything planned?
Happy days.
