Blogging Buddies and no zips!!!!

Hello, Yesterday I put the stuffing in "Sunflower". Now I have taken the liberty to give her a name change on the packet she is called Sylvie but I prefer Sunflower. This is the "Blogging Buddies" pattern from The Red Boot Quilt Company which is run by Toni. Thanks for the pattern Toni it was a breeze to sew up. I raided my scrap bag and had her dressed and ready in no time.

I was hoping to show everyone what I made with that scrappy material I posted on Monday but unfortunately there are no black 16 inch open ended zips in town. I looked in both shops, one shop offered to get me some the other didn't. I am going to do a bit of a ring around today. If they can't be found closer to home one of Bonnie's friends will pick them up from the city for me this weekend. So I will show the finished project when I get the zips. A bit annoying but it can't be helped.

Happy days.

  1. she is so cute! Of course, she HAS to have sunflower hair. What a bummer you can't find a 16" zipper in town to finish your scrappy project. I wish I had one I could send you but that might take a little while!

  2. Sunflower is so cute and I love her new name. I went to school with a Sylvie who always had tangled, knotty hair. Funny what one remembers from childhood!

  6. Hi Bev,

Your doll came out adorable. : ) I know what you mean. Don't know what is going on. Either people are sewing our crafting more or the stores are not keeping up with their inventory.
    Have a good day.

  10. That sounds totally annoying. I find it so frustrating when I go to a shop and they don't have what I am looking for. Hmpf.

... on a better note - how fantastic and cheery does your doll look. Gorgeous. Love her muchly.

  11. Sunflower is a great name for her! I hate it when I have a project nearly finished and need just one more small item that I don't have and can't find!
