Tuesday's Treasures.

Hello,

Welcome to Tuesday's Treasures. This week I will share with you a Fireplace Screen that I bought years ago at a garage sale for something like $5.00. I remember I bought some patchwork books at the same time.

Now I bought this off a lady who was retiring to the city. None of her children wanted this and I guess you can't take everything when you downsize. I actually went to school with her daughter so had known them for a long time. Her husband gave her the kit on her 1st Wedding Anniversary many years ago. There is certainly a great amount of work that went into this tapestry.

I love this fireplace screen and the story behind it. To see lots more treasure's check out Melody's blog. Thanks for visiting.
Happy days.
Bev C

  1. What a lovely treasure! I can see why you like it. So much prettier than the curtain we have hanging up in front of our fireplace when it's not in use (keeps the draft out).

  5. Great find. I'd bet the lady was pleased that it went to someone who appreciated it. It must be hard to give up something she had made.
Makes you appreciate it even more!
