I have stuck to my guns and have been hand quilting. No new projects will be started until this quilt is finished. I can then reward myself with a new project.
There is something quite relaxing about sitting and stitching by hand.
Last weekend we picked up a new plant for the garden, a Chia.

This is an annual which grows to 1.5 metres. It is a tremendous energy food, which benefits your health and vitality. Leaves can be used in a salad or tea.The seeds are rich in minerals, Vitamin A, B's, D 30% protein and Omega 3. The seeds when soaked in water are an excellent thirst quencher. Natural enzyme acts as a catalyst for protein. Chia is regarded as a survival food. A useful gel made from soaked seeds is a food thickener to replace fat, increase fibre whilst reducing calories. Chia can be used in salad dressings, yoghurt, dips and spreads.
Hopefully this will set a lot of seeds to carry on for following year. The Chia plant is part of the Salvia family so hopefully it will do well here.

Good on you Bev for hand quilting...I'm planning to hand quilt my Gardeners Journal one. So that's what a chia plant looks like....I've not seen one before nor had any of its seed!

Good on you Bev, deciding to finish this quilt before starting something else, sometimes you just have to do it that way... the good-for-you chia is very pretty to boot...
Oooh chia, how exciting. I know how healthy it is and it tastes great too, I've even bought a packet but never ever cooked it or soaked it! I might be inspired by your post to get around to doing something with my little but expensive pack.

I know what you mean; working on a project and already thinking of your next project. I do that all the time and that the reason when I started sewing my dress I had to put away my paper crafts, so that I would not be playing around with paper and getting distracted. Quilt looks cute. Pretty flower the Chia plant has and hope it will thrive well in your garden. Happy gardening and sewing.
Fun project! I love having a hand stitching project to work on while relaxing in the evening. I've been hearing more and more lately about Chia, especially chia seeds. Never knew what the plant looked like. Fun to have it in your garden!
