"Being Grateful"

Hello,

Who knew when I started this blog that I would be posting a photo of my toilet!!! I certainly didn't. Today and in some future posts I will be talking about things I am "Grateful" for. Some of these things we take for granted in our daily lives. Other people don't have things like toilets so that is why I am having these postings. Just to make you stop and think about what you are grateful for. Yes you don't get to see my sewing room today but I am grateful that we live in a home with two toilets. Just think if you didn't live in a home with a toilet let alone two. I am "Grateful "we have running water and a toilet or two. Having two toilets is so handy especially when you have visitors or a family member is sick.

I am "Grateful" everyday that I get to open the bedroom blind and look at this beautiful view. No homes or shops opposite our home here at Kainga. I especially love it at this time of the year with the green paddocks.

I am "Grateful "that my Stocks are flowering and that there is at least a few double ones. I will have to look for some heirloom seeds next year.

I am certainly very "Grateful" that people like Claude Monet have blessed this planet with there talent and that people have taken the time to record history. Just image this world without its history kept for us.

I am "Grateful" that the potatoes that Ainsley and Julian gave me for Mother's Day have started growing. Some were knocked back a bit by the frosts but this lot in the old wheelbarrow seems to be thriving. They are protected by the lemon tree next to them.

Now what are you "Grateful" for today? Maybe you may like to do a posting on this subject sometime soon. Please let me know and I will come and visit.

Happy days.

Bev C

I must say, two toilets does make life easier.
I am grateful for good health, family, friends, a roof over my head, food enough to eat and clothes to wear. Those, of course, are the basics and the rest is extra like having the talent to take some fabric and create with it. Loads of things.

It is so important to be grateful for the every day things we take for granted. Love your view! Thanks for the reminder. :)

Hey, Bev, your post sparked a funny thought. I'm grateful to be as old as I am, because the older I get the more I appreciate so many things around me. Growing up without a toilet, I sure do appreciate having one!! Although it's not quite the same as sitting quietly at the far end of the garden smelling the perfume from one of those "trumpet" plants that they now tell us are hallucinogenic. I might follow your lead and do a things I'm grateful for post.

You are so right... we do need to look around at those simple things that we take for granted and remember that there are so many that don't have these xxx

Hi Bev...and yes you made me stop and think, we are very grateful for our toilet. Growing up we had to go outside!!! I absolutely adore Claude Monet and his work...one of my very favourites!!! And those potatoes, will they all grow in the wheelbarrow? Dzintra♥x

Wonderful post Bev. I have wanted to do a Grateful post too. I actually made a book last year to write in just for this purpose. It's a great idea, and makes you stop and think how lucky we really are.

I've been to China, where the public toilets are awful, disgusting, smelly and dirty, so I'm grateful for Western toilets too! I'm always grateful for our beautiful yard and home, which have become our sanctuary the past five years.

Lovely post of gratefulness. Something we all should pay more attention to. I am grateful this morning for a new tea cozy a friend gave me from New Zealand. It is keeping my tea warm as I sit here and visit with you.

I Bev, I'm like you appreciate everything I have and around me. I walked through a roll of eucalyptus trees going to my car the other day and thought I'm so lucky to walk through these trees, I appreciate their beauty!
You live in such a beautiful surrounding that I've missed. I used to lived on the Western Plain of NSW and I missed it - Thanks for a great post - Hugs Nat

What a great post Bev, I will definately do one like it!! And how wonderful to be grateful for your loo.. I saw a show recently ago with the Australian actor who was in that funny Aussie movie 'Kenny'. He was in a part of India with no running water.. There were women who's job it was to 'clean the toilets' they were shunned by society as the lowest of the los and sadly, if that is the life you were born into that was your lot. I was so sad for these poor women... and my gosh, was I grateful that I had a toilet I could flush... and that I was blessed enough not to be born under a drainpipe in India... Sooo much to be grateful for!

Thanks for this reminder Bev.. You have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs
