Another project finished on Friday-Night-Sew-In.

Hello,

Happy Weekend to you. Last night was Friday-Night-Sew-In. I started a little earlier in the day as I tend to make a few mistakes sewing at night. Yes, I did make a few mistakes and got ahead of myself. That happens when you aren't sewing to a pattern and a daughter asks to be dropped of at a friend's house. Then you come home and Ian has some Lion's Christmas cake heated up with a dollop of cream and a cuppa.

Tote Bag.
When making this bag I used up quite a few things. I joined some cotton wadding together to use for the wadding for the main part of the bag. The handles had a different sort of wadding. When I did the quilting, in the bobbin I used up all those partly filled bobbins. No one sees this so this was a great way to clear some bobbins. The material I had in the cupboard for years. At our previous home our next door neighbour used to run the local patchwork shop. When she was leaving town I got all her stash. Lucky me. The lining material was also from this supply. It is a lovely check which matches in quite well. I put quite a big pocket on the inside. I will drop this of to Mum's tomorrow. I wonder if she will remember doing the hexagons? I am sure she will find a use for this bag. It is quite big so will be useful for shopping or going to the library.

There is another sew-in next week if you wish to join in.

Happy days.

Well done Bev. I had a few small finishes and have nearly completed a tote.

Looks like a productive FNSI with this lovely bag! I do love the quilting and the hexagon center patch. I started late so I didn't get as much done as I hoped. Just worked on a custom order for my shop.
