Today I am happy that the late Winter bulbs are in flower.
Jonquils. |
On Sunday Ian and I took a drive across to York for a look around and to have lunch. I was very happy to find that we have our own sock manufacturer nearby. A lovely range of socks and other woollen products all made in Australia. It is so great to find something made locally and especially that it doesn't say "Made in China" on the label. I was in love with some of the woollen blankets that are from the Tasmanian woollen mills.
I also happened upon a new craft/machine embroidery shop with a range of threads wool etc. I was very happy to see a range of West Australian embroidery designs. There are three in the range and I chose the one named "Regional Western Australia" This one included our local post office amongst them. Looking forward to embroidering these designs.
This morning I helped a friend work out how to make bias binding for a project she is working on. Always happy to pass on patchwork information.
Tuesday's Treasures
This week I want to share my little painted stool which sits beside my chair. This was painted by the same lady who painted our house sign and a few other things I have around Kainga. Make sure you check out the other Treasure's being showcased this week at Melody's blog. You never know what you will find.

Lovely flowers! I didn't realize Jonquils were so fragrant. Love the treasures you found on your drive. I bet that was cool to see a sock manufacturer. Cute stool, especially with the adorable paining.
What a nice set of photos on your heading! Thank you for dropping by at my blog the other day and commenting on my Mom's star table topper! She's glad it is finished now. Your bouquet of white jonquils is so pretty. Ilove the spring season and the surprising flowers that go with it.

Love all your treaures Bev. The jonquils look beautiful. Love those 'elephant' socks. Great that you can get Aussie made. Your little stool is gorgeous.
Great treasures Bev, I adore that stool... Jonquils bring back so many memories...xxxx
pretty flowers and the socks would be so lovely and warm.
Lovely treasure.
My hubbie loves to have Aus made wool socks too. He doesn't know why I won't knit them. All that work just to go on his feet! No way. Now if he wanted patchwork socks, that might be a different issue.
Beautiful stool Bev, very pretty painting. Where abouts is the shop that you got the local embroidery patterns from? Would love a look at those. Tracee xx
What a beautiful Tuesday Treasure. I really agree with you about the fragrance of jonquils - it is divine.
I always think it's so amazing what people can do with a paint brush. Very pretty. *grin*

And I need to get to york, haven't been there since our Honeymoon (Doug and I spent our honeymoon there at the Yoke Hotel!!) I would love to see their range of threads and embroidery designs!! Can't to see your embroidery done up! I have always admired your Kainga sign and the stool is just gorgeous too, can I ask who the artist is?
