Could someone please tell me that I am not the only one who leaves a finished quilt on the kitchen table for a week waiting for those damn threads to be trimmed off etc. I just spent nearly 3/4 of an hour doing that. Not one of the pleasant parts of quilting, give me a dozen bindings to be put on instead.
This will most probably be used as a tablecloth more than a quilt. Final measurement of this is 53 inches square. I ended up having to add some blue ric rac to two sides because when I was measuring the yellow ric rac silly me only measured the panels before the end squares were attached.
Happy days.

Your quilt is lovely Bev. I always trim the threads before I stitch the binding down. That way once the binding is done, the quilt is done!
I think it is lovely. Those elephants are gorgeous.
Trimming those threads does take ages!!
I love the scrappy look of this quilt and think the two colours of ric rac give a wonderful finish. What a pleasure it will be sitting at a table covered by it.
A delightful quilt. I can't resist elephants
I love the quilt... I love scrappy quilts and I don't mind if 'foreign' fabrics go in there either.... trimming threads is not much fun.. I managed to make a hole in my finger doing that today!

beautiful finish! love it.
I think the two colours of ric rac are a great touch and the elephants are fantastic
Nice finish.. I do TRY to cut threads as I go but I often miss some..
Wow Bev this is gorgeous you are so clever, well done.xx
Bravo Bev!
Another beautiful quilt. Scrappy quilts are my favorite kind of quilts For me, its the last details that I wish someone else would do. The one thing I do not like to do is sandwiching the quilt. I have to pep talk myself on that part.
I'm happy that you like the larkspurs on my posting. and yes, it is amazing what nature brings in our garden. I just love looking at all the colors in my garden right now.
Have a beautiful day Bev.
Blessings,

It looks absolutely wonderful, Bev! Hmmm....those quilt police can be a problem sometimes can't they! Lol
Your quilt is beautiful Bev, it has a lovely soft vintage look about it that I love. So nice to have all the memories with the fabrics.
Fun finish! I used to trim the threads as I go so they wouldn't overwhelm me in the end.
I love the finished quilt Bev & I personally love quilts as tablecovers. I think it will look gorgeous on your table - especially love the elephant border. Its great to use up some of your stash of scraps & makes you feel so good.
Oh no Bev, I don't leave mine on the kitchen table for a week... I leave it on the sewing table instead, ha ha !
It's a gorgeous quilt, and don't you worry about the Quilt Police, they were not always as perfect as they are now... Love thoe little ele's too, so cute, well done x

Fantastic quilt Bev! I love the scrappy look, and who cares if there's some polycotton there...it's so great to be sewing just from your stash.
