"Roses and a Scrappy quilt."

Hello,

Growing roses is one of my most favourite things in this world. I added a few more to the garden recently.

Princess Alexandra of Kent.

Of course they were David Austin Roses, this one is called Princess Alexandra of Kent, isn't she so pretty and the perfume is delightful.

Stitching roses is fun too.

This  cross stitch design  has 5 roses in different stages of bloom. Have nearly finished the second rose, just need to stitch the stem

The scrappy quilt is now finished.

The backing includes the embroidery design of the cow being taken away by the aliens! Plus I machine embroidered/appliqued Kainga.

I used a Brother embroidery card with Red work designs for the quilting. Plus a rose design and feather design that were freebies from the Internet. Around the border I chose a design from the decorative stitches that are on my machine which I hardly ever use.

The sun is shining here this morning after a cold start to the day, what is the weather like in your part of the world?

Happy days.
Bev C

I can get to like growing roses too, I think. Rose leaves dye very well. You can get perfect imprints from them in green! Hugs Nat

Your garden must look spectacular with all those roses, Bev. Your cross stitch one is lovely. I stitched a set of 5 roses many years ago. It started out as a bud and eventually went to a full blown rose. Hugs, Christine xx

Great finish with your scrappy quilt Bev, well done. Your new rose is beautiful = they don't seem to do well in our garden so it is always lovely to see someone elses. xx

Wow, your roses are so full and gorgeous! Love the stitched kind too. Wish I had an embroidery machine to do that. Love how your scrappy quilt turned out - so many fun places to look and notice new things. We have a forecast for rain over the next few days, so it will be a little warm and humid around here, which I don't mind since I have to work a few extra days in the office. Happy sunshine for you!

Beautiful roses Bev. I love them too but only have a couple so far in our new place. Your scrappy quilt is quite delicious and the abducted cow a wonderful addition. Your back is as good as the front. Blessings Clare

Good Morning Bev,

Wow! your quilt turn out to be a very large one. Nice to wrap yourself in on those cold days. A nice embroidery card you have. It is almost like buying stamps, there are so many beautiful designs out there and I'm sure you want them all. I just love the cow that you added in the back.

Your rose is gorgeous and your new stitching is so pretty. I like the way you are shading the rose.

Well, the weather here is very cool. Not like last week. We were in the 90's and today, low 70's and maybe some rain, but for only one day.
Have a lovely day and weekend ahead too.
Blessings,
Bobbie Lynn

Hi Bev - wow the backing for this quilt is a fab as the front - great work there, I love it!

You can probably guess what the weather is like in my part of the world - warm enough during the day to get washing dry & cold enough at night to have the doona - my idea of weather heaven!
