"Mushrooms, Jigsaws and Gardening at Kainga."

 Hello,

Well there has been no sewing here at Kainga. I do plan to make a quilt label tomorrow if that counts. Lots of other things have been keeping me busy though.

On my morning walk on Monday I decided to walk in the paddock up behind our place and out of the corner of my eye I saw a huge mushroom. I had to backtrack a bit to go back through a gate and hop over the fence that didn't have two rows of barb wire fencing to get to them.

These mushrooms are huge, bigger than my hand spread out. Of course we had only purchased a big bag of them at the  farmers market the day before. So lots of dishes with mushrooms in this week.

Not doing any sewing I have been kept busy with doing a jigsaw.

Lucy is doing this one, of the Banff National Park which is a World Heritage Site in Alberta Canada.

While I am doing a Wasgij Puzzle. These puzzles really test you out as the picture on the box is completely different from the finished puzzle.

It doesn't look like anyone can come for dinner or afternoon tea for a while with the coffee table and dining table taken up by puzzles.

Meanwhile outside with the lovely rain we have finally been receiving the garden is loving it. This garden path always gets filled up with blooms, the poppies will be in full bloom in a week or so.

These little daisies come up everywhere now, so pleased with plants like this. They are a welcome addition to the garden.

The flowering Prunus are in full bloom again. I love the pink snow they create on the ground.

I do have a finished item to share but that will have to wait to next time. It is a gift for someone very special and I can't wait to give it to the new owner.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the week, anything special planned at your place?

Happy days.
Bev C

I wasn't "blogging" for a while, Bev but you were always in the back of my mind.
It is always a thrill to see your embroideries, your sewing in general and that magic garden you have! That impressive Kombi, so many details!
Your Blog as inspiring as always. A big hug, Dolly

That is the one thing I miss about the station... "mushroom hunting" especially after rain. Nothing taste better than fresh field mushrooms made into buttery mushroom sauce for a good steak.

those mushies look great!
looks like you have been having fun using the old brain on those puzzles.
Who needs to use the kitchen table anyway?
we need to make the most of the rain before our summer comes.
Rolling onto the end of the week, I'll have a great day with the crafty girls making clamshells. can't wait.

Hi Bev! My daughter Sarah is our resident jigsaw puzzler, and we always seem to have one out in the colder months. No sewing has been going on here either, but DEFINITELY count a label as sewing! LOL! And....lovely garden you have!

On a different note, friends of ours just found out they're moving to Australia in March 2016; wherever James Cook Univ is located. I checked and I don't think it's in Western Australia where you're located.

Have a wonderful weekend. My husband and I are off tomorrow to celebrate our 35th!

Wow that mushroom is impressive! Is that called buttercup? Spring has arrived early on your neck of the woods Bev.
The jigsaw puzzle looks daunting but good for the mind.

Enjoy your weekend.

Pretty garden pictures Bev. It is mushroom time here too - there were stalls selling ceps on the market on Friday - they are a very popular, but also expensive mushroom here. xx
