The time has come.

Hello,

I hope you have made a great start to the weekend. Recently I have been in my sewing room seeing what really needs to be done. Not new projects. That pile that sits beside the sewing machine. One of these quilts in that pile has sat there for nearly one year. It has been moved from the pile to the back of the sewing chair. That is an important move. Because it means I really want to get it finished.

I won the fat quarters a while back and because they were so bright and funky I really didn't want to cut them up to much. There are four spare blocks as well. These may be used on the backing or I will make some matching pillowslips. The quilt was just getting far to big. Originally I was going to make this for our bed but decided that it didn't suit our room.

Now I was thinking a all over scroll or floral type of quilting should be used. I know it would look great for each individual block to get quilted but it all comes down to cost. I promise the next stage is to take it to the quilting lady.

Have you got some quilt tops that need finishing? I have about three  plenty more so this is only the start.

Happy days.
Bev C

It's great to catch up on things you've put aside. This year I was going to use my fabric stash as much as possible without buying new fabric. Let's just say I better try again next year.

There's a good sense of achievement when you finish something that has been put aside for a while. Love the fabrics. I have quite a few finishes waiting for me, too.

Hi Bev, It's nice getting stuck into your pile of material that has just been sitting there! I love the colours, they are funky. Kind regards, Anita.

I love the quilt top. Glad you have got the urge to finish it. It is much too pretty to stay folded in a cupboard or pile. I also have a back of the chair step with my projects :)

Love the quilt top Bev. I know what you mean about not wanting to cut up the fabric.

Now you need to move on to the next one. Sew do I. LOL

Have a great Sunday

Beautiful quilt! I love the bright, funky colors. I think scroll quilting would be perfect for this piece. I have two quilt tops that need to be quilted, and three quilts that need the binding hand sewn to the back. I just haven't made the time to work on them! Enjoy your weekend!

So happy to hear I'm not the only one with lots of unfinished projects. This is a lovely quilt, so bright and modern looking. Good on you for getting it to the top of the pile!

Oh it's lovely Bev! May I ask, who is your quilting lady?? I need to take my Midwest Moderns quilt to be done but have never had a quilt professionally done before so need to find someone!
Have a good week and stay warm, looks like the rains are back!
